A profile is stored information that we keep on individual users that details their viewing preferences. Consequently, collected information is tied to the users' personally identifiable information to provide information and improve the content of the App for the user. This profile is used to tailor a user's visit to our App, and to direct pertinent information to them.
We use third-party analytics tools to help us measure traffic and usage trends for the App. These tools collect information sent by your device or our App, including the posts you “widdle”, add-ons, and other information that assists us in improving the App. We collect and use this analytics information with analytics information from other users so that it cannot reasonably be used to identify any particular individual user.
Our App may also contain electronic images known as web beacons, or clear gif technology, that can be used to assist in determining what content is effective on the App. Web beacons are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movement of web users. The main difference between the two is that clear gifs are invisible on the page and are much smaller, about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. Web beacons are not used to access your personal information. They are a technique used to compile aggregate statistics about usage of a App. Web beacons collect a limited set of information including a cookie number, time and date of a page view and a description of the page on which the web beacon resides. Clear gifs can "work with" existing cookies on a computer if they are both from the same App or web marketing/customer service company. That means, for example that if a person viewed "www.companyX.com", which uses a web marketing company's clear gif, the App or web marketing company would match the clear gif's identifier and the web marketing company's cookie ID number, to show the past online behavior for that computer. This collected information would then be given to the App. In addition, we may use clear gifs in our HTML-based emails to let us know which emails have been opened by the recipients. This allows us to gauge the effectiveness of certain communications.
When you use a mobile device like a tablet or phone to access our App, we may access, collect, monitor, store on your device, and/or remotely store one or more "device identifiers." Device identifiers are small data files or similar data structures stored on or associated with your mobile device, which uniquely identify your mobile device. A device identifier may be data stored in connection with the device hardware, data stored in connection with the device's operating system or other software, or data sent to the device by Widdle.
A device identifier may deliver information to us or to a third party partner about how you browse and use the App and may help us or others provide reports or personalized content and ads. Some features of the App may not function properly if use or availability of device identifiers is impaired or disabled.
Like most standard App servers we use log files. This includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the App, track users’ movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are tied to personally identifiable information to enable our web-based service.
